Exchanging New Taiwan dollar in China
Bank of China branches in major cities and some airport counters. Exchange before travelling inland, or rely on an ATM card.
Do not count on TWD cash being accepted or exchangeable outside the main coastal cities.
Ask for the counter rate and the commission before handing over the notes, and count the yuan before you leave the desk. Airport counters are convenient but usually carry the widest spread.
